Pierre Gilson is a multi-media writer whose stories cut deep to the root of the black experience and lifestyle. He crafts unique tales of a people of color that redefine expectations and predictable tropes. A devout Christian, Pierre imbues his tales with hope and weaves into his entertaining stories the values that give his own life meaning and strength. His mission is to create content that uplifts people and that they can see themselves either on the page or onscreen.
It is Pierre's real-life experiences, including having served as logistician and paratrooper in the United States Army at 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), that give his Science Fiction and Fantasy world-building an organic quality. No matter how fantastical, at the core of his storytelling are real people facing real situations that define the heart of their character.
In 2017, he graduated from Full Sail University with a BFA in Creative Writing for Entertainment. Pierre works for SciFi/Fantasy publisher, EPOCH Studios, where he is one of the lead creative writers. An essential part of his professional life is traveling around the country promoting the books and projects the company produces.
Pierre is currently working on a short story anthology entitled, Black Fiction: Extraordinary Tales of the African Diaspora, which explores sci-fi and fantasy tales of the African, Caribbean, and African-American experience. He is also working on his first animated screenplay, Shaka; a children's fantasy inspired by one of the greatest African leaders that ever lived.
